Barrow is set to host MK Dons this weekend after a tough opening day loss to Chesterfield. Manager Andy Whing is confident in his team's underdog spirit.

What's the mindset?

Barrow's chief executive Iain Wood says the club is all about hard work and being down to earth. Andy Whing embodies this spirit, having been released by Coventry City as a youngster only to be given a second chance. He went on to play over 100 games for the club and later became a cult hero at Oxford.

The challenges ahead

Barrow's training ground is borrowed from FC United of Manchester, a two-hour drive from the town. This presents operational challenges, but Wood is hands-on, even mowing the lawn himself. The team takes pride in doing things their way, with no excuses.
