Barrow have made former Hartlepool striker Alex Reid their first summer signing. The 30-year-old forward was one of 16 players to leave Pools last month, having finished as their top scorer with 12 goals in 40 appearances. Reid joins on a two-year deal, subject to National League and FA approval. Barrow's new head coach Adam Murray is thrilled to have secured the services of the experienced forward. 'To go out there and get someone of Reidy's stature, a proven goalscorer at this level - we're buzzing to get him in the building and he's excited to get going and meet the rest of the lads,' Murray said. Reid scored 12 times for Hartlepool last season and will be looking to replicate that form at Holker Street. The move is a significant boost for Barrow, who will be hoping to challenge for promotion to League One next season.
