Barrow AFC's home ground will be known as the Furness Building Society Stadium for the next two years. The club confirmed the new naming rights partnership on Friday, a deal that runs through to the end of the 2028 season.
Simon Broadley, Chief Executive of Furness Building Society, said the move reinforces a long-standing community connection. "We’re proud to be Barrow AFC’s new stadium partner and support a club which has been at the heart of the Barrow community for 125 years," Broadley said.
Paul Hornby, Chairman of Barrow AFC, welcomed the expanded relationship. "We’re pleased to welcome Furness Building Society as our new stadium partner," Hornby said. The partnership builds on the building society's existing support via Community Affinity Accounts, which generate annual donations to the club based on members' collective savings.
Community investment
The agreement sees Furness Building Society commit to reinvesting five percent of its annual pre-tax profit into communities across Cumbria. This formal stadium partnership represents a significant expansion of its investment in the club, the town, and the wider local area.
The announcement arrives as Barrow seek stability on and off the pitch. The Bluebirds currently sit 21st in the National League with six points from eight games, having won just once so far this season.
Recent form has been mixed, with the last five results reading one win, two draws, and two defeats. The club will hope the certainty of this new commercial partnership provides a platform for improved performances. Fans can check the latest standings to follow the team's progress in the league.
