Barrow AFC Strength & Conditioning Coach Chace Homer Leaves

Barrow AFC has confirmed the departure of Strength & Conditioning Coach Chace Homer, who has been with the club for six seasons. Homer will be in attendance at the Bluebirds' final pre-season friendly against Morecambe, which will be his last match with the club.

What happened?

Chace Homer has been a key member of the Barrow AFC staff for six seasons, playing a crucial role in the team's development and success. He will be leaving the club to take up an opportunity elsewhere in the Football League.

Why it matters for Barrow

Homer's departure is a significant loss for the club, but the Bluebirds are already looking to the future with the appointment of Liam Welby as their new Strength & Conditioning Coach. Welby will be working closely with the medical department under the guidance of Head of Medical, Mark Leather.

What comes next?

The Bluebirds are set to face Scunthorpe in their next fixture on 16th February 2027. With a strong squad and a new coaching team in place, the club is looking forward to a successful season.

As Chace Homer prepares to leave Barrow AFC, he reflected on his time with the club, saying: 'As my time at Barrow comes to an end, it gives me the chance to look back on the last six seasons. From my very first day as an intern to leading the S&C programme, there have been challenges, successes, good times and bad, all of which have taught me valuable lessons that no degree ever could.'

Head of Football Operations, Joseph Harvey, paid tribute to Homer, saying: 'It's been a pleasure to work with Chace for many years now, and his departure is a great loss for the club. His enthusiasm, attitude, and character are second to none, and everyone at the club wishes him all the best for the future.'

The Bluebirds will be looking to build on the success of the past season and are confident that with the new coaching team in place, they will be able to achieve great things in the future.

Next fixture: vs Scunthorpe (away, 2027-02-16).
